Floor Cleaning

09 January 2010

Floor Cleaning

The firm floors are made from marble, granite, slate, a marble crumb, bulk, or ceramic tile.

The half-firm floors are covered with vinyl, PVC, linoleum, wood and parquet, stopper, or laminates-panels.

There are certain procedures which are usually used for floors cleaning. They depend on a variety of factors, most general of which are: type of a floor covering; its condition; intensity of movement and quantity of soil brought; skills of the staff, and look of the floor. You’ll never find two identical floors. The best firm floor cleaning method is based on using a combination of procedures, doing jobs in certain frequency and using of necessary equipment. This can help you reach desirable results for low price. As a rule we begin with the simplest and cheapest procedures moving to the more difficult and intensive works which last longer and cost more. And we do that until the desirable result is achieved.

The simplest procedures include the following:

Wiping of a dust or vacuum cleaning

This is the main step before the rest of cleaning procedures begins. Its aim is to remove as much dry soil, dust and sand as possible, so the dirt won’t be able to spread all over the place and scratch a floor covering. Palette-knife or scraper can be used for removing rubber and other dirt that have stuck to a surface.

Vacuum cleaning is the best method for dry removal of soil. The dust wipe removes the part of dry dirt inside of the building.

Damp cleaning

The damp mop is used to remove the spilling and dirt which has not been removed by dry cleaning. Palette-knife can be used to remove sticky materials and black shoes traces without surface damage.

Polishing

The one-disk appliance (floor polisher) is used for this process. The soft brush is used for slight dirt removing and to make the surface shine. Then the dust removing and vacuum cleaning follows. Dry, damp and wet cleaning are preliminary steps before polishing. The protective pellicle can be used after polishing, but it’s not always necessary.

Spray polishing

The one-disk appliance (floor polisher) and soft brush are used for this process. The operator puts detergent by means of spray in front of the appliance. The rest of soil, scratches and black traces must be removed after the cleaning and the surface shine is restored. It’s advisable to wipe the dust and to vacuum clean for removing the rest of the soil and dust.

High-speed polishing

High-speed polishing is a process based on the high speed disk rotation of the grinder. It’s used for restoring of the floor surface and making it shine. The floor looks better and keeps its look longer that reduces your expenses.

The high-speed or ultrahigh-speed machine is used for this process. It helps to restore the shine of floor covering. Dry, damp or wet cleaning are preliminary steps before high-speed polishing. It is necessary to wipe the dust or to vacuum clean after procedure to remove the superficial dirt or a dust.

The layer of a material for restoration can be put before high-speed polishing, but it is not required if there is a proper covering of a floor. One or some coverings are put after polishing if necessary.

Deep cleaning

Deep cleaning removes the dirt, black traces and scratches from the floor, as well as the part of the covering. The active brush, proper type of detergent, water temperature and machine’s speed defines how easy or difficult the process will be. The easy cleaning removes one or two layers of covering. The difficult cleaning removes all or most of the layers of coverings to a first coat protective layer.

Stripping

Stripping is very active process, which can remove all floor coverings and a first coat layer to a bare floor. Sharp chemical dismantle, rough brush, hot water and slow movement of machines should be used when any other process don’t gives desirable results only.

Specialized procedures

The best floor cleaning method is a combination of all above-listed procedures with different frequency. It will bring the best results.
